FINAL CLINICAL BLOG
This semester has kind of crazy! I am glad that is coming to end. I have seen a lot of different things. I am happy to say you can always learn something new even if you have been scanning for quite a while.

6TH CLINICAL BLOG
A 76 year old female presented from the med/surg unit with abdominal distention and pain. A routine CT abdomen and pelvis with oral only was preformed due to her elevated creatatine level. Radiologist read the exam as a moderate sized rectus sheath hematoma and large loculated peritoneal fluid collection.

5TH CLINICAL BLOG

This image is from a 27 year old who had a scooter wreck delivering pizzas. Patient was complaining of pain in his wrist. Plain radiographs were questionable for fracture. CT was recommened to rule out fracture. The radiologist read it as an acute nondisplaced fracture through the hook on the hamate.

4th CLINICAL BLOG

This past few weeks have been fun at clinicals. I have met a lot of strange people and had some interesting cases. There was an 87 year old female who is wheelchair bound from a prior CVA. She had went to out competitor twice in this last month for her chronic constipation. Patient states that they did nothing to help her so she came to our facility in hope we could make her feel better. She had not had a "good" bowel movement in 4 weeks. She had abdomen distention, nausea, and severe pain. After a routine CT abdomen and pelvis, she was diagnosed with a fecal impaction. Patient was admitted to the hospital for treatment. Two days after her admission and attempts from the floor to remove the impaction with digital stimulation. A KUB was preformed the film showed little improved from prior CT exam. I have never in my almost 14 years of being an tech have seen anything like this. It is truly amazing.

2nd CLINCIAL BLOG

It has been a little bit hectic at clinicals. We have been very busy. We are a little short on help with 2 of the 3 pregnant women at work having already delivered their babies. I recently had a 21 year old male with cystic fibrosis. He is on oxygen at home continuously. This was just a follow up to see how his disease is progressing. Since I did my pathology on cystic fibrosis, it was interesting to have this man come in for a CT.
